Sites at wild conTENTment

Our sites represent an off-grid eco camping experience with none of the crowds that go with most glamping experiences. Relax and unwind admiring the views across hills, meadows and waterways taking in some low-key local activities in this beautiful part of North Shropshire. All that is required of you is to turn up, pitch and admire the view. We have selected the best wild locations on permanent pasture each with their own personality but with the essential flat ground needed for pitching a tent. Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed. Campervans are allowed on all sites. See booking page for prices. Each site can be booked for exclusive use. See booking form. Three different sites with three different feels. Which ever site you choose we make your stay at wild conTENTment easy and fun. View our selection below.

Cattle will be kept separate from the camping area. Footpaths which cross the fields allow access to most parts of the farm but guests are not free to roam all over the farm fields.

A perfectly formed self-catering lodge, Bumble Lodge (, sleeping 4 can be hired if available in conjunction with the camping at wild conTENTment and is only a few minutes walk from the sites here for those less intrepid in your group.

Pen Llwyn Hill

On a grassy plateau nestled below the top of Pen Llywn lie 3 loosely marked out camping pitches complete with 3 fire pits, 1 tap and 1 compost loo. Its south facing elevation gives this site spectacular panoramic views of the North Shropshire hills, plains and Welsh Valleys. Truly breath-taking atmospheric skies to rejuvenate the soul.
The site sits at the edge of a permanent grass field and can be booked for exclusive use in which case the site can accommodate a maximum of 25 people. For large groups please contact us to discuss amenities, catering or party ideas.
Within each site pitches are allocated on a first come first served basis. Car parking is close to the pitches. Pimp up your experience by adding on any of the optional extras at checkout.

The Spinney

Closest to the farm, albeit a quiet spot 75m away, lies this small collection of trees for the ultimate outdoor expereince of hammock sleeping (4 hammock spaces but hammocks not provided) with space for 1 further tent in the field right alongside. This site has more scrub and den-making capacity. Never slept in a hammock ...check out hammock camping
Car parking is not allowed close to the pitch and will be  a 5 minute walk from the site. Wheelbarrows are available for transporting luggage. Compost loo and tap on site but pimp-up options except for the fire-bowl are not available on this site. The Spinney is approx 5 min walk from the other two sites.

As well as sitting next to a idyllic babbling brook this site is more secluded and quiet with 4 loosely marked grass pitches sits next to the soon to be restored section of the Montgomery canal. It is a little walk away and so no danger of children accidentally coming across it. The site is separated by stock proof fencing from an 11 acre meadow and as with the other sites as you wander about along the public footpath you might encounter the odd very friendly, quiet cow.

This site gives you the quickest access onto the local lanes and canal tow path which then offers a range of activities.

The site is approximately 2 minute walk from The Spinney site and 5 minutes walk from Pen Llwyn Hill. Exclusive booking of this site can be made for up to 8 tents. Within each site, pitches are allocated on a first come first served basis. Car parking is allowed close to the pitches. Add on any pimped up experiences at check-out.
